The daisy is a perennial, herbaceous plant. Depending on the sort it is able to reach a height of 20 – 80 cm. This flower blooms from May until October and is common in the whole of Europe. Daisies are also found in Asia, North America and Oceania.

In medicine the daisy is described as a miracle healer: crunched it serves as an overlay on wounds and contusions. In the past daisies were used against colds. It is also possible to eat them. Its flavour is mild and aromatic. The flower buds taste very sweet, but also the roots are edible. In the Greek mythology this plant is dedicated to the goddess Aphrodite and in Christianity to Virgin Mary where it symbolises her tears.

The daisy is commonly known for happiness and naturalness and has been a popular oracle of love for young girls for hundreds of years. Who doesn’t know the game: He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me …
The last leaf is supposed to make the decision – but who knows if it’s the right one?

With the Cloisonné technique a gorgeous flower has been eternalised in this silver coin.
