The “Seven Second Summits“ are the second highest mountains in each of the seven continents. However they are generally more difficult to climb than their well-known bigger brothers. Until today, no mountaineer has been able to complete all the peaks of the “Seven Second Summits“. The heights of these seven mountains are between 4‘750 m and 8‘611 m:

K2 in Asia 8‘611 m
Ojos del Salado in South America 6‘893 m
Mount Logan in North America 5‘959 m
Dykh-Tau in Europe 5‘204 m
Mount Kenya in Africa 5‘199 m
Mount Tyree in the Antarctic 4‘852 m
Puncak Trikora in Oceania 4‘750 m

Independently from one another the two Austrian mountain climbers Christian Stangl from Styria and the South Tyrolean Hans Kammerlander set themselves the goal to be the first person who conquers all “Seven Second Summits“. One can only wish them Good Luck for this ambitious goal.
