One day Sultan Shahryar discovered that his first wife had cheated on him with
another man. Since then he decided to marry a new virgin every day and cut her
head off at dawn. Thus, he would avoid being disgraced again. Scheherazade, the
daughter of the vizier, agreed to marry the cruel monarch. To avoid death after
the wedding, she started to tell a tale without ending which ignited great curiosity
in her husband and saved her from being beheaded. After one thousand and one
nights of telling tales, Scheherazade turned the sultan into a good, loving and
kind man.
