Man’s curiosity as well as the drive to research is unlimited. It is of burning interest for us to know what lies behind our neighbour’s hedge, the next hill or the horizon.
We have explored the highest heights and the deepest depths of the earth. We have stood on the moon and would like to go to Mars. Our telescopes observe starburst-galaxies millions of light years away. At the same time we are advancing into the tiniest matter. We decipher our DNA, search for the Higgs particles and accelerate protons. Their size? A millionth of a nanometre – and one nanometre equates to one millionth of a millimetre!
We have made use of the latest technology and packed a detailed map of the world onto the size of a finger nail. A resolution of an incredible 155 megapixels is engraved with the technology of microelectronics on an ultra-planar Nano chip, which is produced in a dust free environment out of high purity quartz and in an extreme vacuum.
