Description

One of the most well-known works of all times and places is the 14th-century epic
poem “The Divine Comedy” created by an Italian writer Dante Alighieri. This year,
2020, we mark the 700th anniversary of “The Divine Comedy” that Dante
completed a year before his death in 1321.

This coin was created to illustrate the main points of “Inferno” – the first part of the
poem. If to look closer at details, you can see the nine circles of Hell which Dante
crossed to rescue his lost love named Beatrice. The plot is excellently integrated
into this design. The coin is aesthetically sophisticated. It is uniquely polished to
achieve the final look.

The coin comes in a luxury and top-notch box that has the shape of a book in honor
of the anniversary of this monumental poem. Inside the wooden box, there is the
Certificate of Authenticity together with the summary of a chapter “Inferno” from
“The Divine Comedy” in three languages. In the Inferno, it goes about the journey
of Dante through Hell, guided by the ancient Roman poet Virgil. As an allegory, the
Divine Comedy represents the journey of the soul toward God, with the Inferno
describing the recognition and rejection of sin. The plot of the poem is as
fascinating as the beauty of the coin.
