Vincent van Gogh, a prominent post-Impressionist painter, is celebrated for influencing 20th-century art with over 2,100 completed works, including masterpieces like “Starry Night” and “Sunflowers.” Despite grappling with mental illness, he dedicated his life to art, achieving posthumous fame as one of history’s greatest artists.

A significant piece in van Gogh’s oeuvre is the homeographic portrait of his doctor, Dr. Gachet, completed just six weeks before the artist’s death. Van Gogh, who had stayed with Dr. Gachet during a challenging period, expressed pride in the artwork in letters to his family.

The collectible featuring Dr. Gachet’s profile meticulously replicates van Gogh’s brushstroke techniques in high relief, presenting a lifelike image. The piece, utilizing the innovative “Bi-Metal Max” minting technique, combines 33.5 oz of copper with a 2 oz top layer of 999 fine silver on a 110 x 145mm canvas.
