?Hole Cards? are the cards that each gambler keeps concealed while playing various poker versions. In Texas Hold?em, which at the moment is perhaps the most popular and mostly played version, two cards are handed out. The gamblers use several nicknames for the different combinations of these Hole Cards. When for instance the gamblers talk of ?Cowboys? or ?King Kong? during a poker round every player at the table knows that the talk is of two Kings.
Two Queens are called ?Ladies?. They rate among the strongest start hands in the version Texas Hold?em. When holding this combination the gambler is in a comfortable beginning situation. The first three open community cards are called a flop. When one has Queens it is advisable to place enough chips into the pot before the flop is laid. By doing so several fellow gamblers might abandon their claim for the pot, give up and fold. If they have aces and kings they would overpower the Queens.
Depending on the number of gamblers at the table the gambler with Queens has an over 20% chance of winning the pot.
