Issued by Cameroon as 1000 Francs CFA legal tender, this remarkable coin is struck from 1 oz of pure silver in an antique finish with selective color. Limited to 501 pieces worldwide, it beautifully conveys the spiritual presence and benevolent nature of Khatu Shyam Ji, whose blessings are sought for protection, faith, and fulfillment of wishes. Crafted with reverence and fine detail, this release is both a devotional symbol and a meaningful collectible. Only a portion of the mintage is available internationally, with the remainder distributed within India.

Coin description

The reverse showcases a high-resolution printed image of Khatu Shyam Ji, inspired by the revered idol enshrined at the Khatu Shyam Temple in Rajasthan. The depiction emphasizes the deity’s serene expression, ornate crown, and divine aura, symbolizing compassion and surrender. Surrounding the central image are devotional inscriptions in Hindi, reinforcing the sacred character of the design.

The obverse features the Coat of Arms of Cameroon, with the inscriptions: “REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN” (country of issue), “2025” (year of issue), and “1000 FRANCS CFA” (face value).

Each coin is individually numbered on the edge from 001/501 to 501/501.

Background information

Khatu Shyam Ji is widely venerated in Hindu tradition as the manifestation of Barbarika, the grandson of Bhima from the Mahabharata, who was blessed by Lord Krishna to be worshipped in the age of Kali Yuga. Known for his unwavering devotion, sacrifice, and compassion, Khatu Shyam Ji symbolizes humility and divine grace.

The Khatu Shyam Temple in Rajasthan is a major pilgrimage destination, especially during the annual Phalgun Mela, drawing millions of devotees from across India. Worship of Khatu Shyam Ji reflects faith in divine justice, mercy, and the belief that sincere devotion is always rewarded.
