In November 2022, amid the harsh realities of war, the Liberation of
Kherson marked a pivotal chapter in Ukraine’s history. Before it, for
more than 8 months, the city had endured occupation. Its civilians
courageously protested barehanded against the heavily armed invaders.
Ghana created the ‘Liberation of Kherson’ coin as a powerful symbol
of what can be achieved when a nation stands together in the pursuit of
its sovereign future. Every cheer, tear, and thankful embrace underscore
the victory not just on the battlefield, but also in the hearts of those who
had longed for this day.
