Background information
The Mona Lisa is a half-length portrait of Lisa Gherardini by the Italian Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci, which has been described as “the best known, the most visited, the most written about, the most sung about, the most parodied work of art in the world”. The subject’s expression, which is frequently described as enigmatic, the monumentality of the composition, the subtle modelling of forms, and the atmospheric illusionism were novel qualities that have contributed to the continuing fascination and study of the work.
Graffiti Art is an art style that is often used on walls without permission in earlier times. Today’s contemporary graffiti style is heavily influenced by hip hop culture and appeared primarily on building walls, subways and bridges often using aerosol paint. In the 80’s decorative high end graffiti art was also developed. Today there is a huge amount of artwork that is made on canvas as well. Graffiti style art is worldwide known and widely accepted in galleries and museums.
