With a length of up to 17 cm the maroon clownfish is the largest representative of the anemonefishes. In contrast to the bright red male the colouring of the females is dark red to maroon. The Premnas Biaculeatus feeds on plankton and seaweeds and lives in coral reefs in a depth of up to 6 m. Compared to other anemonefishes they are very aggressive.
