Description
The Dragon and Phoenix 2024 5oz Silver Antiqued Coloured Coin unites two of the most revered symbols in traditional Chinese culture. The dragon, embodiment of power, strength, wealth, and good fortune, is paired with the phoenix, the immortal bird whose rare appearance foretells harmony and joy, its feathers a dazzling display of beauty. Together, they symbolise the cosmic balance of yin and yang — opposing yet complementary forces believed to govern all aspects of existence. Struck from 5 troy ounces of 99.99% pure silver, the coin’s reverse features richly coloured depictions of the dragon and phoenix encircling a flame-fringed pearl, emblem of wisdom. Surrounding motifs include stylised clouds, omens of peace and luck, and a peony, the flower of wealth and honour. The obverse bears the Queen Elizabeth II Memorial design with the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy, denomination, weight, purity, and 2024 year-date. Limited to just 388 pieces worldwide, each 55.90 mm rimless antiqued coin (8.50 mm thick, 155.533 g) is presented in a classic display case with an illustrated shipper and numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Designed by Natasha Muhl, this coin is a striking tribute to Chinese heritage and the enduring harmony of two legendary beings.
