Description

The Five Ancient Chinese Auspicious Creatures 2024 5 oz Silver Antiqued Coloured Coin is a magnificent tribute to centuries-old Chinese mythology, artistry, and symbolism. Struck by The Perth Mint from 5 troy ounces (155.533 g) of 99.99% pure silver with an antique finish, this 55.90 mm masterpiece—8.50 mm thick—features five vividly coloured legendary creatures: Phoenix, Qilin, Dragon, Turtle, and Pixiu, arranged around a central taijitu (yin and yang symbol) and framed by auspicious stylised clouds and a traditional Chinese pattern. Each creature carries deep cultural meaning: the Phoenix embodies summer, fire, and immortality; the Qilin heralds peace, prosperity, and children’s success; the Dragon, symbol of supreme power, brings wealth and abundance; the Turtle signifies winter, longevity, and cosmic order; and the Pixiu, a guardian of riches and protector against evil, brings fortune and joy. Designed by Lucas Bowers, the obverse bears Jody Clark’s effigy of His Majesty King Charles III with inscriptions of weight, purity, denomination, and year-date. With a monetary denomination of 5 TVD and a strictly limited mintage of just 388 coins worldwide, each is presented in an elegant display case with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity—making it a rare numismatic treasure uniting ancient myth with modern craftsmanship.
